  1.   ⑴ For large pit-type carburizing furnaces, calculating the heat loss at 0.129kw/㎡ based on the furnace wall surface temperature rise from 50℃ to 40℃, and the annual operating time of the equipment at 7200 hours, the φ2.0×2.0 pit-type carburizing furnace wall surface area is approximately 68㎡, this alone can reduce furnace wall heat loss electricity consumption by 63,000 degrees per year.

  Except for the furnace bottom, which needs to use refractory insulation bricks for load-bearing, the furnace wall of the pit-type carburizing furnace is changed from the traditional refractory insulation brick structure to an all-fiber structure. The φ2.0×2.0 pit-type carburizing furnace wall uses refractory insulation bricks, and the furnace wall heat storage reaches 1885kw. Changing to an all-fiber structure, the furnace wall heat storage is only 518kw. Based on an annual operating time of 300 days and one furnace cycle every 4 days, this alone can reduce the heat loss electricity consumption by about 102,500 degrees per year.

  The above two items, plus the all-fiber structure of the furnace cover, the strength design structure of the muffle, the heating element installation structure, and the reasonable handling of various thermal short circuits, can reduce the electricity consumption of the φ2.0×2.0 pit-type carburizing furnace by about 170,000 degrees per year.

  ⑵ Conventional carburizing processes typically use a carburizing temperature of 920℃ and a carbon potential of less than 1.1%CP. Because the RQD large pit-type carburizing furnace greatly improves the accuracy and control methods of temperature and carbon potential control, it allows carburizing to be performed at higher temperatures and higher carbon potentials during the carburizing process, not only ensuring product quality but also significantly shortening the carburizing process time.

  In fact, the carburizing temperature can be increased to 950~970℃, and the carburizing carbon potential can be increased to 1.25%CP for strong carburizing. The total process cycle can be shortened by at least 30%, greatly improving equipment utilization and significantly reducing overall energy consumption.

  This type of equipment not only meets the carburizing heat treatment requirements of large workpieces but also, as long as the requirements for similar materials and similar carburizing layer depths are met, can achieve maximum furnace loading for carburizing heat treatment of small and medium-sized parts.

  With the promotion of hard surface treatment technology for transmission components of large heavy-duty machinery and the continuous advancement of new rounds of energy-saving and emission-reduction technological transformation, the market demand for such equipment will rapidly expand, with an estimated annual demand exceeding 100 sets and an output value reaching 200 million RMB.

  Based on the estimated 800 sets of large pit-type carburizing furnaces in China by 2015, the total annual electricity saving can reach more than 140 million degrees.

  (II) Large Energy-Saving Controllable Atmosphere Hood-Type Nitriding Furnace

  1. Use: Mainly suitable for surface nitriding, nitrocarburizing, oxynitrocarburizing, pre-oxidation, post-oxidation, and other controllable atmosphere heat treatments of products such as gears, shafts, and molds. Complete technical specifications, working area dimensions: diameter φ1000~φ4000, height 1000~6000mm, maximum load: 2~60t.

  2. Basic Situation:

  (1) Most gas nitriding furnaces currently used in China generally use ammonia decomposition instruments to control nitrogen potential or purely manual methods. These nitriding furnaces have simple structures, high energy consumption, low control accuracy, and difficult-to-control product quality. Especially for products with deeper penetration layers, it is even more difficult to achieve precise control of the penetration layer and internal structure, resulting in deviations in the nitriding layer depth and microstructure, as well as significant waste of electricity and process materials, failing to meet the product requirements of high-quality nitrided parts.

  (2) Traditional gas carburizing furnaces have long atmosphere establishment and cooling process times. Under the same production plan, the number of pit-type furnaces is often greater than that of hood-type furnaces to meet production capacity needs, resulting in a significant increase in equipment investment and operating energy costs.

  Tianlong Company's technical personnel, combining years of design experience and China's national conditions, have innovatively designed the RFN series of controllable atmosphere bell-type nitriding furnaces, which possess internationally advanced technology. The equipment uses an all-fiber furnace lining and the latest integrated and informational control technology, integrating temperature, nitrogen potential, PLC, recording, alarm, expert system, dynamic control, and management system functions. It uses a hydrogen probe to directly measure nitrogen potential, a mass flow meter to control the supply and measurement of feedback data of process media, and intelligent PID adjustment control to achieve precise control of the nitriding process.   4. Promotion Prospects and Energy-Saving Benefits

  ⑴ Since its operation in 2007, the controllable atmosphere bell-type nitriding furnace has produced stable and reliable product quality, processing over 30,000 tons of various products. All technical performance indicators have met the design requirements, especially the high precision of temperature and nitrogen potential control. The equipment operates stably and reliably, fully meeting product design requirements. The overall technical performance and manufacturing technology of this equipment are comparable to those of similar international equipment, leading domestically, and achieving good economic and social benefits.

  ⑵ With the rapid development of the machinery industry in recent years, the requirements for nitriding treatment of certain products are also increasingly high, placing higher demands on related equipment. Therefore, high-precision control nitriding equipment has a large market in China. The controllable atmosphere bell-type nitriding furnace is characterized by a small footprint, precise temperature and atmosphere control, a large loading capacity, energy efficiency, and low comprehensive cost. The estimated annual demand for this type of equipment is around 80 sets, with an output value exceeding 250 million yuan, showing good development prospects.

  ⑶ Compared with well-type nitriding furnaces, the initial investment cost of bell-type nitriding furnaces is approximately 17% higher.
